Superintendent Letter to Parents/Guardians

To Parents/Guardians,

Yesterday, a letter was sent out in a neighboring town indicating that there were reported incidents on the North Shore of" ... adults in cars approaching students and offering rides." The letter stated that these incidents occurred over the last week. Gloucester was somehow listed in that letter as one of the communities where these exchanges took place. I am writing to inform you that NO such incidents have been reported here in Gloucester to my knowledge or to the knowledge of the school principals. Had there been, we would have most certainly responded by notifying the police and you.

With that said, let us use this moment to remind ourselves to continue educating our children about "Stranger Danger". As we know, Stranger Danger has become the term commonly used today to sum up the danger associated with adults whom children do not know.

For a quick review of some of the suggestions for parents and guardians made by experts, please see the following websites:

If, at any time, you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school principal or me
